Iron Hill Tigers head coach Gary Givens has said the Tigers will be without three key players for Saturday’s match against Cobras.

Josh Riewoldt, Trent McKenzie and Cameron Smith are all unavailable due to calf injuries.

The Tigers have won all three games they have played against the Blues this season, but the side is struggling to win games.

Givens is expecting the Tigers to lose the opening game and face Brisbane at the SCG.

He said in a post-match press conference:”We have to play our game and get the result.

This is our team, this is what we are and it’s what we expect.”

But it’s also our players and we have to respect them as individuals and that’s what I have to do.

“They have been performing really well in training and we know what we have got to do and that is take our game to them.”

McKenzie, who was out of the side for the first four games of the season due to a hamstring injury, has played just five NRL games this year.

He was named in the team for Saturday night’s clash against the Tigers.

Smith has been out of form this year, with his best form coming in round nine when he bagged four tries in the Tigers win over the Rabbitohs.

Smith’s absence will be felt by the Tigers’ defence.

They have conceded 34 points in their last six matches, but will be looking to turn it around when they face Brisbane.

Cobra Tigers head into Saturday’s clash at the MCG having won all their previous four games against the Bulldogs.
