A few months ago, the metal trainings in the Sydney Opera House started to come alive.
There were giant metallic rails that stretched for miles.
“That’s the thing about iron railings: they’re actually quite heavy,” Tony Farrar, a metal engineer, said at the time.
“If you want to move things along a track, you need a pretty big metal platform.
You can only do that on one side at a time, so you have to make sure you’re doing it on both sides.
That’s a lot of metal for a tiny little building.”
The show also featured giant metal trains that stretched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, where they would run on rails in place of the traditional wooden track, and would carry people along the harbour side of the bridge.
Iron rails are a lot like what you see on the train tracks at the Opera House, but much more dangerous, Farrars said.
It’s a big, solid steel rail that’s very hard to bend, he said.
“You can actually bend it, but you’re pretty far away from where it’s going to bend.”
The metal trainers have been used in a number of countries and for decades, but the first use of them was in Australia when the government decided to build a railway line from the northern coast of Tasmania to Darwin, FARRAR said.
That rail line is now called the Northern Railway.

There are many types of iron rail, including iron rails with a thin steel frame, as well as some steel rails that are made of the more durable carbon steel.
They’re also used for the construction of railings and road bridges, and are sometimes used to build large metal train cars.
A steel rail is typically designed for use in an enclosed area, such as a rail tunnel or a ship’s yard, where it is made from strong, welded steel.
Some people believe the iron railers at the Sydney venue are the result of a similar design, with the iron rails running over the rails to prevent them from being twisted, FARAR said, adding that some of the metal railings were actually made from steel bars.
For Farram, the use of iron rails was important because it was a new and interesting material to use, as they were not commonly used in metalwork before the introduction of steel rails, he added.
“It’s very different to the traditional steel rails.
It’s actually very light,” FARRAS said.
